    Default Inlet manifold

Hi I've decided to get a new inlet as the old one has had it's days. I'm getting around 30 mpg. Sluggish under 2k rpm. And smell through my heater vents. I was after feed back from guys who have had this replaced and what difference they noticed. E.g power wise. Mpg etc.

Well, I've not had mine done but from my knowledge of engines it will definitely use the fuel more efficiently, giving you a bit more power at the lower revs

I did mine myself at the beginning of february. Like you i was getting poor mpg, sluggish and exhaust smell through vents. I replaced the inlet with new gaskets for the egr and throttle body too. The car now starts, idles and runs a lot better now and the mpg has increased massively. One other thing is make sure you buy the actuator connecting rod as these tend to break on removal so a new one is a good idea. Only cost me about £6 from dealers

That's great thanks. The mechanic I use is on holiday from 5 April for a month so I've got it booked in for when he gets back. Also did u guys buy the inlet from dealers or from eBay. Pierburg makes are available at around £160.

55210201 just replaced mine at the weekend, doesn't smoke on start up any more but haven't noticed any increase in power and mpg slightly better. Not a bad job to do but not for the faint hearted.

Thanks mate. Mine smokes abit on start up and poor mpg. If I put my foot down there isn't much smoke and it still seems to pull strong. But the smell that comes out of heater vents is now bad. £35 diesel 140 miles local till light comes up..

Replacing the manifold should cure your smokey start up but I never had a problem with exhaust smell through the vents as Ive been venting the crank fumes to atmosphere for about 2 years now, saves all the oily fumes going back through the manifold as it does breath quite heavily at times.
