Facelift or not? What head unit was in the car originally?
i couldnt tell u what head unit was in as it had an alpine in and its 2006 model newer shape
So you're looking for an ignition live. The problem is the cig socket isn't going off when the ignition is off. It's pulsing voltage which in turn isn't turning the attached sat nav off.
Ok, they don't have a switched power in the loom as it'll be a full CAN car, and the computer tells the OE radio when to turn on and off.
Easiest place for a switched live is the cig lighter, it will also provide you with an earth there as well.![]()
One prob with the fag lighter when I plug my sat nav in it with ignition on the charger lights up orange and that's telling me it charging when I turn ignition off and take keys out the charge in the fag lighter is pulsing and still charging that sat nav
Never come across that before, I will admit. Erm, ok - next best will be direct to the fusebox. You'd need to check with a multimeter to find which ones are switched and which are permanent live though.
There's an earth point behind the glovebox iirc (you'll see loads of brown wires all bolted to one point of varying thicknesses, just stick a ring terminal onto your earth wire and put it on there as well)
