    Default Vauxhall Frontera advice

Im moving to Cyprus for 3 years in august and im going to be taking a car with me. I cant really take the vectra as its too low down for the poor road conditions out there. Also a 4x4 will be great for exploring the beaches/mountains etc on my days off work.
So does anyone have any ownership experience of the frontera? Id be going for a lwb as I have the wife and 2 kids moving with me. Im more concerned about reliability than performance to be honest as the vehicle will need to last the 3 years and then I will sell it out there before returning to the uk!
I do like the look of the swb tho as you can remove the roof but is it big enough?
    Cheers

The 4x4 lads really love the 3.1 TD Vauxhall Monterey as its cracking value for money, and the engine goes on and on. Plus its great off road with lots of low end power. They do have a 3.2 V6 petrol as well......

On the Frontera side of things my old boss had one for years and he loved it! It was a LWB and it took him and the family to the beach every summer with no stress. The SWB has no boot space really for family use. I would go for a hard top with a re gased aircon system as the heat is just too much in the summer over there. Hope the move goes well and I am sure that you will enjoy the time over there.

The quality of the Frontera was so bad that fed up owners tried to storm Vauxhall's Luton HQ and the MD, Nick Reilly, had to come outside to appease them. True story. Be warned.

I've had both a and b series and both swb and lwb 2.2 petroleum are prone for hg going ifnot serviced. Correctly looking at 25mpg tows well gos well if it looked after 2.2 dti tend to need new injector pump swb no boot space lwb loads of boot and leg room in the back how ever the 2.8 a series desiel is the one every one wants the v6 is very thirsty and the 2.5 will drop a push rod if it's not had thecright oil in it at the right intervel. Go on fronteras owners. Com or fog.com don't believe all the c#*+ there s #*@e I did then bought one a little 2.0 k reg petrol towed a 1.5 ton trailer with a 2 ton jeep on it with no problems same through the range and models a good 4x4 for its money ONLY REASON I DONT OWN ONE NOW IS I DONT NEED A TOW CAR has much and need to save a few quid on fuel costs oh its basic 4wheel drive system makes land rover look like pants

Friend had a LWB and could only get exhausts from Vauxhall??

Check the import duties, you may find a diesel double cab cheaper, like the Mitsubishi Warrior etc, it is classed as an agricultural vehicle.
