Default Turbo cuts out, No power, Engine fault lights on, EGR maybe?

    Hi all.

Firstly to clarify, when i say "The front of the engine" I mean the bit closest to the grill. The back of the enginer is closest to the windscreen :P

Back in october i had a copper type pipe replaced. It was part of the EGR system. Went into the front right (As looking at it) part of the engine. It had split, and exhaust fumes were pouring into the engine bay and into the cabin of the car. This solved that problem.

I am 90% sure the same thing has happened again. Not wanting to spend more money fixing it again, Im going to bypass the EGR, (Read lots of stories telling me to do so)

Over the past week i've noticed a drop in power, turbo not obviously working to its full potential. Then today it stopped working all together, with the spanner light coming on. A switch off and on again solved it, but this happened 10 times on the 20 min drive back from work today, regardless of what revs i was doing.

Came home to find the EGR blanking plate had arrived from ebay. So i fitted this between the hose and the EGR valve- Top of the engine. This has solved the fumes problem, although now i have no power at all, and a different engine fault light on. Struggles to get over 3000rpm in 3rd.

Had enough of it now. Has anyone any suggestions? Or live near Derby and could have a look for me?

Sorry for the essay. Thanks in advance

    Spud
