Glow plugs would be first port of call.

    then leak off pipes

good luck with this mate, i have the same problem and have spent a fortune changing parts to try and sort it out and it still does it. Does your car smoke on cold startup as well ????

I have 2 thing left i want to try, 1 is a new or recon starter motor as a dodgey one can effect fuel pressure on start up and 2 is the injectors. I wont get the chance to do this for a few weeks as waiting for my little girl to be born so need the car in one piece but will let you know how it goes .

    so far i have changed

thermosat, glow plugs, egr valve, map sensor, dmf and clutch, battery, fuel filter, airfilter, oil change and filter, waterpump and timing belt kit

Just take your time removing them! done mine they were a ***** on the 150, I used a lever type screwdriver but you need to keep them straight at the same time, I wedged a spanner behind them
