Wifes Siggy 2.0Dti is doing my head in. Approx just over a year ago wife called me out as her car had a flat battery. As the car was only on its 2nd battery and 8 yrs old bought a Halfords battery as that was the nearest supplier open on a Sunday Morning.
Approx 3 months ago she had the flat battery problem again went out started it with jump leads ok. like a P**** I broke the connector on the Parrot CK3200 LS Colour Display and haven't managed to win one on EBay yet. Since then we have had at least 4 occasions with the battery going flat (It was only 10.8v) I have re-charged off the car and OK for a couple of weeks.
Checked Battery regularly its between 12.4v to 12.6v static connected engine and ignition off. Checked voltage with engine running no load equals 14.4v and with absolutely every thing on its an Elite its down to 13.7v For over last 1.5 weeks the car has started very easily with starter motor throwing the car around the engine if you know what I mean.
This morning wife went out on her normal Wednesday run car started absolutely fine I was there when she started it. She drove it for 4 miles and parked up outside her friends for approx. 3 hours. Went out to car tried to start it, her words it revved really slowly then just clicking noise. Just started it ok from a Ford 1.6 Escort Ghia (S Plate) and only 16k from new. Had to leave jump leads on with Ford engine running
It Started ok. Drove car Back 4 miles left it outside for 3 hours and it started. What the * is going on.
