Default fitting a double din, but......

    just had a thought.

Car is a 2008 Elite, and I'm looking at fitting a Pioneer AVH 8400 BT unit, I'm going to get the connects 2 kit that will keep the functionality of the steering wheel controls etc.

    Now the 'silly' bit......

Will the controls for the climate control etc still work the same on the same unit?

APOLOGIES if this is a stupid question, but...... :-(

PS. can anyone point me in the right direction of a full wiring kit for it, initial searching looks like no-one does the complete change over kit for it? (i've ordered the celsus facia from Amazon recommended in a different post)

For the wiring, the connects2 part number would be ctsvx002, with CTPioneerLead as the patch cable. Search for Dynamic Sounds on ebay, they generally do the two of them for about £35 delivered.

The aerial adaptor should be CT27AA17, again - available from ebay. That should sort it out.

Ish... it depends on the adaptor.

The CTSVX002 doesn't, as it generates its own +12v turn on from the canbus. It also provides handbrake switch, reverse sense and speed pulse for navigation/AV systems. The standard non-stalk adaptors (or some older stalk controls) require a +12v switch from the cig lighter to tell the radio when to turn on.

That's why personally I recommend the CTSVX002 adaptor, it's easy as owt to fit! As long as you remember to make the last connection the one to the car, you can't go wrong (basically plug everything into the radio, then before you slot it home, plug the two quadlock sections together).
