Why would you do that?
Fuel consumption mate, using way to much for my liking
Looks like a signum,I'm thinking 2.2 dating elite?
I understand your reason for sure, but i reckon i would of just sold the 2.0t and brought another eco friendly, couldnt justify a swap for such a lower spec one, no offence like buddy, its your car and from what i gather in the pic looks sweet.
You're plain wrong about lower spec.
This engine is hard to remap (only EDS knows how to do it), but then it makes a MONSTER torque out of it. Uprated clutch recommended...
Yet it consumes nothing. I refuel every 600 km, which is only twice a month. Almost always in town, because of my job. When driving on the road, it's more like 1000 km... Of course, an 1.9 CDTi 150 will have more grunt, but they're not so far from each other.
But the difference may be in the reliability. The engine itself is almost undestructible. Timing chain, etc. Some of them are still running after more than 4000 km (the other ones are just not old enough to know yet ). Never got any engine related problem (I don't count he damn rubber turbo hoses splitting as a problem : swapping for silicone has to be done without any hesitation anyway).
Excellent engine Mine was running at 140bhp just with simple mods like a de-cat etc As for spec I don't understand the comment such a low spec? Is it the low spec car? I don't think so as it has the sri front bumper!
If its a signum then the spec will be much greater then the Vec equivalent!
By lower spec i ment power ect, i agree with them being epically reliable my 2.0DTi was, like i say i understand his reason for sure and it'll most likely save him £££££ on insurance, tax ect... wasnt saying the DTi's are rubbish or anything of the sort bud.
Its a Signum 2.2 DTI Elegance model. My turbo was 27-30MPG but this is around 50MPG.
