Since getting the car in September most times when i start the car there is a smell of coolant mostly on colder mornings, doesn't seem to be using coolant and no smoke from the exhaust just steam until the car is up to temperature any ideas guys

I've also had this on mine for a couple of years and have no idea why?
Are there any suggestions the coolant has been replaced?
I would suggest performing a gravity check, just to make sure it isn't too concentrated
I changed the coolant last month and mixed it half and half 2.5 litres of coolant and 2.5 litres of water
I wonder whether or not your expansion (header) tank is leaking. It is at the front or base of the windscreen, albeit obviously inside the engine compartment. If it is leaking even a few drops of coolant, the vapour would accumulate and might get drawn in to the ventilation system by the fan when you start the car. Either that or your heater matrix has a pinhole - but that's much more difficult to check and repair. Paul
Could be the cap also Paul come to think of it, mine really only does it after a long run so maybe a faulty cap![]()
True. It could be the cap. Paul
