Well the Vectra was sold and picked up today. We took a deposit last week and he paid the rest today.
We haven't touched her since getting the new car and so she has sat on the drive. It was sold to a friend and he didn't even want a test drive or look over the car let alone it's history as he said he knows I looked after her.
As he's about to leave he starts her up first time no issues, pulls forward to manoeuvre out the drive front gates and there's a thud and the front OS dropped. Had a look and the front spring had snapped
I said we would jack it up to inspect it further and sort something out to which he replied that "It was lucky you sold the car and it's not your problem now I will sort it when I get home" I said you can't drive it like that it will screw the tyre and it's dangerous. He said I'm off and on he went.
Got a call later to say he had made it home and the front spring had indeed snapped clean in 2. He had got no more the 1/2 mile before the front tyre popped (NCT 5 with less than 4k on it). I said I would look into getting him some new springs as I genuinely had no idea it was about to go but he won't have it as he said it wasn't my fault and I let him have it cheap. Hoping this won't affect our friendship as our wives and kids are friends as well.
Should I just buy them and take them round or would that seem too much?
So feeling a little guilty and embarrassed right now so chilling with a few beers and doritos.
