confused Help! What Do I Actually Need!

Had my car getting the flexi repaired this week and asked the garage to investigate the knocking from the front of the car and quote on prices of the parts and then the labour so i can shop around and see if i can source parts cheaper or even tackle using a how2 from here.

However after looking hes just written me a description and not being very car part sound I cant really tell what I need! this is what they have told me:

    n/s lower ball joint worn
    o/s steering rack knuckle worn
play in both front anti roll bar links

so what parts do i actually need

    Default

Right N/S Lower ball joint ............... New wishbone required
O/S steering rack knuckle ............... These are referred to as "drumsticks" .... They are the inner rack arms (best replace both)
Front anti roll bar links ...................These are the Drop links and best replaced with the Meyle uprated version from PFS or Ebay

All parts will be easily available from most motor factors but dont be tempted by the uber cheap tat from ebay as they will not last long best to go for mid priced parts if price is a factor!!!!

    Back in a V6 !!!!!!!!!!!! And lovin it !!!

First up. The drivers side is the offside and the passenger side is the nearside just incase you didnt know.

    You need:
A lower ball joint. I tend to just change the whole wishbone as the extra money more than covers the hassle saved

    Both front antiroll bar links

The steering knuckle has me confused. Im not 100% familiar with vecs. Usually people tend to refer to the universal joint where the column joins the rack as the knuckle. A car only has one so the fact hes mentioned a side gets me.

    Sorry i couldnt help more.

1st one i would say is the lower wishbone as the balljoint is built into them and not replaceable

2nd one is probably the steering arm/tie rod - its the bit at the right of the picture that wears on them

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-V...item23178e600b

3rd ones are normally called drop links.

NOTE: these are just illustrations as to what they are but not necessarily the quality of the ones i would buy.

edit; Got beaten to it, spent too long typing it out
