    Default Rear demister lines knackered.

    Hi,

I have a few lines which don't heat up and clear the back window. On closer inspection it appears the line have been damaged by the previous owner (possibly ripping stickers off).I have already tried repairing the lines with a repair kit, bit still no luck.

I am wondering what options I have to fix this?

Is it possible to replace the glass itself? (Heard this is costly and hard to find)

    Or replace the whole tailgate?

    Thanks in advance.

If in no rush you'll Prob pick up a full tailgat for cheaper then the glass, then sell your to someone who doesn't care about the inch patch...

Get a whole boot lid from car breakers, or you can buy some stuff to fix it, you just paint it on. My rear glass got smashed a couple of months back so got a new one, the demister is far better then the original I can tell you that.

Thanks for the comments guys. I like the sound of replacing the tailgate best. How difficult is this to do? Any wires to plug in etc? Also how does the central locking work after you replace it. Thanks again.

Get some silver conductive paint and carefully touch in the missing lines. You can buy it from places like Maplins, much easier and cheaper then a new window or tailgate!

Thanks again guys. Really appreciate your help.
I think its 5 lines which don't work in two places, which quite annoying, but I guess this is a MOT requirement for it to be fully working...

Can anyone recommend any decent repair kits for this? I think the one I had was crap, hence it didn't work.

It's not on the MOT, they don't put a kettle on in your boot for them then to test it
