    Default cruise control

    cruise control turns itself off on its own going down the road

    There is a How 2 on removing the stalk to clean the contacts on the site. 10 min job. It could be that or the clutch spring switch.

    Are you sure you're not touching the brake or clutch pedal with your foot? Touching either, even lightly, will turn it off.

    no mate i was on motorway and all of a sudden it just turns off

    took stalk out give it a thourogh clean still the same

    mine does the same, ive cleaned the stalk also and it still persists

    On my 2002 vectra the clutch pedal return spring had broken meaning the clutch pedal didn't return all the way and prevented the cruise from coming on unless I pulled the pedal up with my foot. If yours had broken it could be making the switch sometimes (therefore cruise works) and then dropping slightly and turning cruise off (ignore this if you have an automatic). I bought an add-on spring mechanism from the dealers to fix it
