Sounds like you may need to have the ECU software updated as they newer EGR's function slightly differently than the older units
There is a VX "Field Remedy" for this:-

Hi mate sounds expensive any ides of the cost ???
From what I remember it cost me about £60 (1hr labour) for them to plug the car into their (VX) diagnostics machine. Think the update only took about 5 mins though
Have you checked all the vacuum hoses in and around the engine for cracks/perishing? Also might be worth whipping off the boost sensor (black box thing located next to the EGR) and giving that a good clean if you haven't done so already
Not yet but theres always a good smell of diesel tho
And sometimes it judders when start up
That could be related to your leak-off pipes on the top of the engine........ I had similar issues to that and replaced the leak-off pipe and starting has become a lot smoother
HOW-To change leak-off pipes: http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...59#post1678259
There could really be a number of things I suppose, for example cracks in diesel filter housing (letting air into the fuel supply) loose hose connectors on top of the filter housing (again letting in air) but for me it was just trying to identify which one. Unfortunately that's been the costly bit lol
Hi Damo 77 just been digging around the engine and i found the pipe at the bottom of the air filter had came out cud this be the reason for the above symtoms thanks again for your advice mate

The bottom of the air filter housing is just a drain tube there if any water gets in air filter box
Mmm any ideas wat causing the problems mate??
