    Default Signum into VX tomorrow

my tailgate is leaking like **** when it is opened up,

they should have looked at it when the service was done 2 weeks back, but they didnt

so its in tomorrow to be sorted, they have said it could be there all day, but it aint so bad as its only a 15 min walk from the house, lol
and my bro will prolly end up doin the work as he is in the bodyshop,

anyone else had this done to their Signum ?

the ****ers also lost my locking wheelnut adapter and forgot to change the brake fluid ( 2 yearly ), the cost was £210, but with discount ( from my bro ) it went down to £140, however, it dont mean i get shafted does it , lol

    wish me luck

Not pesonally, but on one of these forum's a guys parents Signum was leaking. Passanger footwell flooded. VX eventually located the leak to the rear window. Had not been sealed properly and so after re-sealing the rear window all was well.

When you say leaking, do you mean it drips water into the luggage compartment from the tailgate when you open it? If yes, then look at this thread.

    BB,

Vx will fix it for you, from my experience - the service guys can get a little upset when customers show and quote Field Remedy's.

If you have no joy at your current dealer, perhaps you could try another and ask whether there has been a facotry fix / manufacturer's recall because of water leaking into the car?

Hope you get it sorted m8

Cool - good to see that the Common Problems section is coming in useful. I still have other sub-sections to add in there!

The job itself isn't that long, they have to let the stuff cure for a while before they'll let you drive it. In case they forget to tell you, no car washes/jet washes for a couple of days as it slowly cures further over that time.

Not disbelieving you, but I can't understand why a dealer will take that attitude! Do they not want to do the work and get paid by VX for it? Just because the customer has some 'inside' information, shouldn't mean that they are reluctant to do the job. In fact they are making it much easier for the dealer!!

I had a few niggles on my car and from the forums was made aware that they were known problems with specific fixes/remedies. Then after having a good look through TIS I discovered that some other niggles I had were also known problems. Joe Public (who doesn't look at forums) would have had no idea about this and may have just lived with the niggle. I was able to go into my dealer (who I get on very well with as it happens) and say to them I have this, this, and this problem. I believe they are known problems referred to in FR x, y and z. The service guy did ask how I knew all the FR numbers. I just said that I had a friend who worked in a Vx dealer and had access to TIS.

They happily did all the work, will have got paid by Vx for this and they have a happy customer. Why the hell do dealers not want to do work that they will get paid for and is being given to them on a plate!!!!

    Duncan

I know what you mean about dealer's wanting to get the jobs done, perhaps I have had a couple of bad experiences with a Vx dealership - perhaps it is the dealership? .

I will take my car to another deale to get serviced from now on I think

I like to know my cars inside out - hence getting TIS and EPC etc and joiing this forum ...

Some service guys dont particularly want Joe Public to know more than them.

I find having the 'insider' information very valuable, it enables me to ask the no-brainer questions.

Like you, when the dealer asks "how did you know that", I also have a friend who works at Vx and has access to TIS

BB, I'm sure you'l get it sorted

Everyone seems to have a copy of TIS! Anyone want to share the secret source?
