Smokey V6 CDTI SRI

I've always noticed a puff or plume of smoke in my mirror when I'm toeing it but got quite a shock when I followed it down the road today and it smokes a damn sight more than I would expect.My dealer has done quite a lot of work on the car and have assured me it is fine (as they would).I dont see too many other V6 CDTI's and have never followed one before so could anyone put my mind at rest and tell me whether this is normal (please)hopefully)pray) or not.I know diesels do obviously smoke and this is 3 litres worth but I just cant help worrying.

Mine usually chucks out a bit of a fug if I floor it, especially in first gear. I believe there were some dodgy air filters around at one time, but you'd notice a loss in performance if you had one of these.
It is a diesel, after all!
