    Default Ammonia Smell In Cabin

    Hi all,
Since the rolling road last Sunday, I've had a strange ammonia smell in the cabin of the Siggy. I've had the heaters on full blast and smelt the air coming through and it isn't from them. I've checked under the hood and ther are no pipes loose or split and no fluid leaking anywhere. I smelt it straight after the car was on the rollers and it has not gone since. Any body got any ideas?

    Cheers

    Howard

Oil leaks onto hot exhaust pipes or manifolds stink & so does coolant loss on the same parts.

On the rollers it was pushed and took to max so you may have now got a slight leak worth another look?

Knowing what im like at rolling roads, did you have an accident watching your car on the rollers?

No, just when I got my figures, I'm thinking it must be coolant as it smells that way. But cant see where its coming from at all.

Radiator hose or metal pipe work under pressure may spray onto a manifold or exhaust when pushed hard.

A coolant pressure test will show this up easy.

Look at your coolant the colour and can you shine a torch around and see this anywhere on the block or bodywork?

Oil also stinks and can be confusing again any oil leaks even slight ones can stink on something very hot.
