Default poor radio reception with 8k HID's

I recently fitted an 8k HID kit, looks great with vectra-c facelift headlights. Trouble is when headlights are switched on the radio receptoin is poor to the point I mostly listen to CD's.

Any1 had this before or have any ideas how to fix?

had this on mine but was 6k turned out to be a faulty ballast , try putting on just the side lights radio should be ok then when you put the headlights on then youll get the interference , send it back and get a replacement one when did you buy them .hid-direct give you a 2year warranty on the ballast . khalid

I got them from the carmodshop a few weeks ago. I have emailed them and they have told me this is not a common fault on vecta-c. One idea they had was to put foil around high voltage wires and ballast

dont know about putting the foil around anything . a few members on here had the same problem ,and this is what it turned out to be . have you tried what i said about just the side lights to see if the problem is there ,as this is what was happening to me as i was just using the side lights with the radio on but got the interference when i put on the headlights . i would still send them back and if they wont change them get your money back . khalid

Khalid the technical guru on this subject now As said above its the ballast not being screen properly causing RF interference to the radio, putting 'tin foil' around something generating 25,000volts is NOT advised lol! Send the ballasts back and try another set or make.
Plasma's Tech2 services are now open and able to provide services
