Non Vauxhall, but need help.

Hi guys, i know this is a non vauxhall question, but really need some help.
My missus has a renault megane coupe and its started to make a knocking/rumbling noise from the front. It only seems to make the noise when turning under power, mostly right but sometime left. If you take you foot off the power when turning the noise stops. Does any one know what this could be. There also seems to be quite a bit of movement from the gear stick, moves back and forth when putting on power and taking off, i know the mounts are a trouble spot for these gearboxes, could this be causing the noise??

Seriously have the mountings checked and the drive shafts too before it falls out.

My mams had the same problem with the gearstick on her 2001 megane coupe up until getting rid last month, she had it from a year old and it only had 35000 miles when she scrapped it, the gearstick would move on acceleration and de acceleration from the day she bought it and didn't get any worse so I don't think it's that, I know it sounds stupid but has a cover come off underneath and scraping on the floor or when I had my BMW the arch liner moved and it made a horrific noise when turning left when it would catch the wheel

hi mate the gear box&engine mounts are a weak point on the megane just out of intrest what engine size is it? as some are fitted with a dephazer wheel and this also makes a knocking rumble noise

Its a 1.6 16v 2000 reg. Im thinkning its either drive shaft or the bearings have gone, but odd that it only does when under power.
