Gear Problems on cold start up's

I have a 54 plate vectra c 1.9 cdti Elite 150.

For the past two months now, when I start the car up in the mornings gear 1 & 2 and very difficult to put into. After 1-3 miles of driving the gears are fine 1&2.

I went to one mechanic and he told me he could not check the clutch or gearbox, anyone suggest what it could be & whats a good way of checking to be sure what it is??

And the rear?

Mine had the same problems, two months ago.

Replaced the gearbox oil and now it´s fine, feels...like butter...

The VX fix for this was to drain the oil from the box and fill it with slightly less than it had when new as the extra oil causes problems when cold, but the reduced amount helps while maintaining gearbox lubrication.

The reverse gear is fine, so what you are saying from what I read is to drain the Gear box oil & then refill it but a little less then it was to begin with as it is now??

What could be the cause to this sudden problem? You dont think it could be the clutch or gearbox that need changing?

Is there a how to do section & what oil is needed for the gearbox?

Start with the easiest and cheapest remedy for a common fault on Vectras, gearbox oil change.
If the problem persists then the next step is to check the clutch and gearbox...

Official stealer (Opel) did the job at my request.

Cold weather & 150 6spd are commonly stiff, work it in 1/2nd or 3/4th b4 starting & it'll be fine, it will be normal when it warms up, mine's been like it from new.

LOL This may sound crazy but I changed my Air filter to a K&N Air filter and the gearbox problem has gone away lol after two months or maybe the weather was warmer today
