Default Finally! Insignia to be ordered :D

We've finally made a decision and will be ordering today the following:

Insignia SRI VX-Line Nav 160 ECOflex
    in Technical Grey
with Exec Pack (BT, Auto lights wipers Climate and Dimming Mirror)
    and DAB

    Can't wait!

I would have chosen the sovereign silver (I think it's called that) but we have to have small company logos on the side, and the grey hides them the best

I'll miss the HIDs from the Mazda 6 and the twin exhausts, oh and 25bhp but the Insignia is a nice place to be and feels much better built than the Mazda.

I took out the flexride option as a) the ecoflex rides lower anyway and b) the extra cost just wasn't worth it in the end.

Will do, be 10 weeks odd though lol.

One good thing about the wait is that i've got one of these little beauties to run about in :

Fitted with Tan leather interior, Sat Nav and Dynaudio speaker upgrade

If I was single, I would have kept it. Company wouldn't have minded. It's only the 140TDi, still nippy enough though.

However I'm not single and it's just not practical, especially as the wife has an RX8, 2 small sport cars doesn't really work. Still I get to enjoy it for the next 2-3 months. Well I will once it's had £2,400 spent on it in repairs

£2400 in repairs - what happened to it?

Surprised you didn't opt for the AFL Xenon's on the Insignia, they are awesome, best headlamps on a car I've ever driven. Roughly same price as the Flexride. Esp. as you said you'll miss the HID's on the Mazda.

Company car mate. So have to be reasonably sensible.

Long story with the Scirocco, have a look here :

Ok well in short form, 2 years ago we gave as a sponsorship deal, the Scirocco to an Olympian gymnast.

He has now been offered a BMW in a new deal (by BMW) and we have the Scirocco back.

We knew that he had buckled an alloy (apparantly by doing donuts in a car park).

However upon inspection by VW, the story is a little worse :

Ok well here's the news :

Got the estimate from VW for the damage. They have fully examined the suspension now and have found damage (and needing replacement) to the following :

    Wheel Hub
    Wheel Bearing
    Lower Wishbone
    Lower ball joint
    Shock Absorber

Estimated cost to repair....£1700!!! Insurance time we think! What an idiot the guy is, no more sponsorship deals from us!!

Not only that, but all 4 tyres are the cheapest you can buy and are not speed rated to the car. So all 4 tyres also need replacing, along with 1 alloy.

Fortunately through the Scirocco forum we are buying 4 alloys with original rubber only having done 2k miles for £650.

So the total bill approx is £2350

Fortunately the interior is mint so at least he appears to have looked after that!!

What a ...insert sweary word here... your "olympian gynmast" is!

Maybe the Scirroco isn't such a good alternative after all.

Here's hoping your Insignia is on time.

    Cheers
