Got myself some Michelin Pilot S3's, got them in november, done about 7000 miles, down to just over 3mm he did say they would wear quicker, i haven't even pushed them, grip is fantastic, but cant afford to replace them at that rate

i always thout you would see about 12-20k out of a new tyre well a good name 1 any ways
would you feel better if I told you I wore out a set of rear tyres in 1000 miles on a mk4 astra dti ?
Have a look on www.alignmycar.co.uk and take to to a local centre for a full alignment will cost between £50 and £80 but cheaper than new tyres.
Were they new or part-used?
If part-used, how much tread was on them at fitting?
I assume they have been fitted to the front throughout
From my records, tyre wear during October to March is greater than March to October
5mm of tread consumption in 7000 miles is quite poor
However, eight weeks for 7000 miles is very high
That would suggest the majority of the driving is Motorway, in which case that may be normal as the wear rate is double at 70mph compared to 35mph
