Default New Vectra - Central Locking Hell!! HELPPP

    Hi all,
firstly new to the site as i am new to the Vectra scene Bought myself a 52 plate 1.8 SRi and it has a few little problems, i wont bore any of you with the others because this is the most important one..

Everytime i get out of the car and shut the door, i press the lock on the fob and all the locks shoot down and indicators flash as normal but locks instantly shoot open again , now the lock on the rear drivers door was dancing about when they pop up so i presumed it was sticking and fooling the car into thinking it was open, i have bought a second hand central locking motor and after about 2 hours in the dark and cold tonight fitted it, put everything back together and tried it but nothing has changed apart from it doesnt dance around anymore, this lock does the same as all the other doors now the boot button on the key fob works and the button to open the doors doesnt work but the light comes on, on the key fob.. i presume it doesnt work because the doors dont lock from the fob.. ive looked in the manual and no fuses cover the central locking system but i do occasionally get a message on the trip computer screen when i get in saying check safeguard with a stick man and some waves behind him ?? i have read as many forums as i can to save wasting all of your time in commenting on the same problem again but cant seem to solve it, i have tried reregistering the key like i read in someone elses forum by holding it on the last notch in the ignition barrel and holding the locking button for 10 seconds tried it again and its still the same..

ANY thoughts or help on the problem are very much appriciated thanks guys.
    and girls (just incase)

are there any warnings that any door is open, that happens in my car when i press the lock button before the kids have shut the door, it sounds to me like the car thinks one of the doors is open.

i would suspect that is the problem, im not sure your car should display if a door is open all the other vectras i have seen do, so i suspect there is a fault somewhere, the car thinks a door is open or there is a faulty control box/cable somewhere.

have you tried to test for fault codes

Sounds like the switch that's built into the door stay has gone faulty.

the problem is is pretty dofo a faulty door switch try each door indvidually leaving it open and pressing the door pin by hand then locking the doors with the fob if you still have the same problem it may well be a as simple as the door switch on the door jam (assuming your car uses the pin switch system) if it does and works by pressing the pin s/w then it will be the s/w at fault

The Vec-C doesn't have visible door pin switches.
