Default can clutch slip fix itself...?

My clutch started slipping boxing day, due to diesel contaminating it, one of the high pressure fuel pipes developed a hole, it was leaking for a week before I noticed it due to the snow. Its been off the road since the 5/01, I finally manage to get it back on the road last night. Clutch hasn't been done, just the leaking pipe, but now its not slipping,

My question is can the diesel dry out of the clutch material...?

I was under the impression it didn't and once contaminated its time to sell the arm and the leg, it was definately slipping, revs increasing and speed not, I'm not complaining, just I didn't think I was that luckly...
