    Default help please black smoke from engine

    hi all just had a phone call from my missus on her way to work this morning she had to pull over saying there was black smoke coming from the engine.no lights on dash or anything so im stumbled.i did put a fmic on it could it be that or maybe a pipe is loose its a signum cdti 120 any help please

    id check all the pipe work for the turbo but black smoke indicates overfuelling

    what could cause it to over fuel and now you mention it she did say other day that when she parked up that there was a cloud of black smoke at the back. And i was followin her the other day when she went round corners there was what seemed to be droplets from the exhaust cheers for the reply

    the droplets from the exhaust are usually condensation from when the exhaust heats up

    Check air filter is not black or sucked up a cloth or full of leaves, as restricted air flow will cause over fueling ie: Black smoke.
