Replacement Springs Shorter?

Hi all,

Got a vectra C which had a failed its MOT on a broken spring. Ordered the replacement (KYB RX6222) but its shorter than the one I took off? Bit of an issue as I am only replacing one side (as im looking to lower in 3-4months anyway).

I double checked on the KYB catalogue and it looks like its the correct p/n (2002+ standard suspension for a 1.8 on the rear).

Is it normal for the spring to be shorter? There are 4 main coils, but the one I took off has 2 smaller coils at either end and the replacement only has 1 smaller coil at each end.

Really need to know asap as the car is on the driveway missing a spring as I type!

the one you ordered may be for a sri what mmodel is your car

Its SXI but i think its with the standard suspension. Also the broken spring has yellow paint on it which i believe indicates standard setup.

The replacement I recieved is defo for standard spec, as i have double checked the partnumber on the box and spring itself. Was also told by my motor factor that the SRi springs cost significantly more than what I paid.

no sxi has sri springs mate

I dont think so? Only if is was specc'd up to. Think early 2002-2004 vectra SXI's which came with the non-sri bumpers etc all came with standard suspension.
