Is anyone else collecting the magazine ?

It works out around £587 to collect all of the parts but I've seen 1/8 models go for treble that and from what I've read on other forums it's a good deal

Surely the value will go down with the amount of 1/8 models then available?... Also what's the value of a self assembled version?
it looks nice but when u done the monthly amount over the time it takes to collect it works out at over £600 thats mad

mmm looks good on the website, interested to see what the actual model looks like though. My Airfix models never looked like the box photo when I built them!
I don't think the final model will be up to the quality of those other 1/8th scale models though, in the FAQ it says the body is die-cast metal, rest is ABS plastic.
Those £3k 1/8 scale models have cast bodies, white metal suspension components, OEM spec rubber tyres etc etc. blurb on site says they take approx 50 man hours to assemble - quite good value then at approx £60/hour!
I gave up on these type of promo's. Shops, even big ones like WH Smiths and Menzies only stock the first half dozen, then it's special order only, and if you ever go a week late collecting they decide you lost interest and cancel. For that reason, I doubt many models will actuall get built. I make scale models too, takes a lot of skill to make working parts work 100% well, 100% of the time.
i have the titanic and hms victory there 1/8 i think well they both bigger then my 42"tv and all made of wood dont do them plastic ones just cheap a crap
