Hi there mate ive got the same problem with my vectra and its a 52 plate few ppl have told me to try a few things but its not worked i think if its any thing to go by on what ppl are saying its the cim unit that sits behind the streering wheel not cheap kidda as it has to be reprogrammed try a few things first that i did and see if it works it dint for me but may for u
clean the abs plug that is a big plug on the right hand side off the engine bay near the wind screen just above batt,,,
take clocks out give them a clean put back in u might just have a lose wire
change fuse f17 on the fuse box on the passanger side off the dash board
hope this help if that fails then see if u can get some one with a fault reader get it plugged in get the fault code and see if u can find out what it is thats wrong but most likly could be the cim unit hope this sorta helps
i plugged it in and got 9 fault codes, a few were cam bus errors, i have cleaned the abs plug and dials and its still ******ed. i will try the f17 fuse and if that doesnt work i will have to get a new cim module and get it re programmed, cheers anyway
No worry,s mate ive done most off the things to my,n and its still doing it its looking like the cim unit for me
how much is it gonna cost for its all roughly?
if u get a cim unit with it tec 2 cleared u can get one for about 50 quid or get one with the code for it then what ever vauxhall wanna charge u about £300 quid all in prob but if u let vauxhall do it and supp the part ,,,,about £500 mate
im sure i will get it done sumwhere cheap, i will ask my tutor at college im sure he will know sumwhere, cheers m8
see if u can do my,n lol,,,,,,,, its doing my head in now let me know how u get and how much it goign to cost ya mate
the part code you need for the cim should be 13162134
replacement and fitting of a cim unit is anywere between £430 and £480.
Had mine replaced (again) in July and until now its been fine. But it started doing its funky thing again on Saturday. Off to the dealer again on Wednesday.
Strange thing with mine, since it did it Sat morning.. dials dropping, dash like a xmas tree, its been fine since then, and over 300 miles added.
Ho-Hum
