    Default sluggish

    hi for you guys who dont know ive got a vectra cdti 150.
    The problem is that these past few days its been really sluggish on pick up untill the turbo spools up.
    Has anyone got/had the same problem and know what it is or mite be and how to fix it? all help appreciated

    Iirc its usually down to the egr valve or boost sensor needs cleaning if sluggish under 2000rpm

    There is a how2 on cleaing them mate, the EGR needs to be taken apart and cleaned once removed from the vehicle. Not sure about cleaning the boost sensor but its only little and should'nt be a problem ! These two go hand in hand when it comes down to being sluggish, before the turbo kicks in.....

    boost sensor cleaned with carb cleaner and soft toothbrush

    the egr can be cleaned this way too, the valve bit anyway.

    split egr into valve and solenoid, follow how to and drill solenoid bit, then clean and lubricate before reassembly.

    make sure you also remove soot from egr to maniold entrance

    clean both egr gaskets or better replace with new.

    repeat process every 3 to 4 months as routine maintenance

    also change to branded fuel and do airbox mod. it just will
    run so much better

    cheers im not the best when it comes to engines especially diesels but ill do my best cheers for the help.
    oh and the airbox mod is done already

    egr is 4 bolts to manifold, best with deep sockets and wrench

    egr to flexi pipe is 2 bolts again deep socket works well

    make sure you don't drop the gaskets

    split egr with torx bits

    then drill egr solenoid as per how2 with 3mm bit

    then give it a hefty thump with a punch to separate
    solenoid from body

    it seems complex but its really straightforwards once you've done it
