I have 35w 6000k fitted. If they fail (or I feel an urge) I think I'll fit 55w 6000k. Rather tempted to see if my spare kit will fit in the front fogs...

35 watt and they do me fine. If I find that I can't see in the future with them then I'll head off to Specsavers as my employer contributes £50 towards new glasses.

After seeing a few threads i'm starting to wonder if the 50/55w kits are fully compatible with the pre-facelift Vecs.

Most of the problems seem to be with 55w kits on pre-face cars

I've put 35W 6000K just on and seems perfect to me. Have to consider poor folk coming the other way too. You will notice that the road signs and cats eyes are well illuminated outside of the beam pattern too.

I got a 35w 5000k Ultra kit from HIDs Direct & had a problem with the bulbs flashing intermittently when they were switched off, either with the engine running or not. This was on my 2004 1.8LS.

I contacted HIDs Direct & they suggested i swap the ballasts i got with the kit for the ballasts from the CANBUS PRO kit.

After swapping them over i now have no problems at all, but had to make sure i fitted the cancellers, as without them i got a bulb out warning on the display in the rev counter.

So, it would appear that, for my model & year at least, the CANBUS PRO HID CONVERSION KIT, with cancellers is the way to go. Not sure if it'll suit everyones model/year, but it sure worked for me.
