help fitting Zafira Vxr gear stick

my gear stick has turned up 2day but it doest seem to have a ball joint connection the bottom is square and the stick is connected to the bottom frame with like a pin, please see the pictures all help appreciated

The Vectra and Astra VXR sticks have long poles connected to the stick, with a ball joint, whats the square ??

I can take some pics of mine tomorrow and let you see the difference, unless there is a bottom half that fits the square it looks like it may be wrong one mate

i do think it is the wrongone unfortunatly its just square at the end and is held on to the whole fixing with this pin going through it

But the vectra / astra one has an enormous pin through it also but i cant remember the square bottom ?

In the bottom left pic, is there a catch above the mechanism that releases it from it ?

there is a small silver pin with abit of plastic around it that moves up and down can seem to get the stick released

The whole plastic part is different also mate

zafira gear stick is completely different frommall the other cars as its a "remote" stick in the dash and not on the floor as in vectra / astra ...
