    Default Fuel filter - petrol

Been faffing a bit with my Vec over the past couple of days and realised that I've had it since 29k (now 75k) and not changed the fuel filter.

What's the usual interval between filter changes? I'm assuming it's an easy job like on the Vec B...

Id agree with that, £6 from dealers with trade card, £9 without.

i would say its just as easy to do as the vec B, the vec B has it's in the middle near the rear (directly underneath the rear seats area) the Vec C has it's on the drivers side under the rear seat area.. As you will know and for the benefit of those that don't and have never done this before, I refered to the seats just as a visual locator and that the filters are actaully on the underside of the car.

If its been there a while jack up ther car and spray them with wd40 to clean and loosen them up a few hours beforehand if possible.. If the engine is cold and not been run for a few hours then there is no need to drain the feul system, if it has then press in the pressure release valve on the fuel rail under the plastic engine cover. You should consider wearing some goggles as petrol and dirt from under the car is likely to be dropped on to your face.. The job takes about half an hour start to finish.

Is it just me or does anyone else hate doing these, an eye full of dirt and plastic clips that should just pop off but one always puts up a fight. Maybe its me ha ha!

yeah mine was a awkward one to do.. Fiddled about with it for a while to get it to free up, did not get as much petrol in my face as when i did the Vec B though. Just remember that if you do not have special 'tool' for removing the pipe clips then use two small flatblade screwdrivers to insert into the clips and they come off quite easily.
