2.2 elegance stereo

i have just bought a vectra 2.2 but when i put the stereo on all it shows is the message saying safe could any one help

you will need your radio code , once you have this turn off stereo and hold AS , turn on stereo with this held till you hear a beep then use buttons 1 , 2 , 3 and 4 to enter the number then press AS agin.
