Anyone any ideas what would cause over fueling ?

Reason i ask is ive just had car in a warm garage for 2 hours replacing starter motor and battery, now i did all that and she started first time but with some diesel smelling smoke.

So i think she's over fueling , ive had the ECU update done and this was meant to decrease fueling on startup so not sure what else to check

Plus i have a leak its from the rear rad nearest engine bottom left corner not sure if this is inter-cooler or radiator

If it's the intercooler that explains it. The engine thinks it's getting the air it needs - as the leak is after the MAF. It will be injecting fuel when there is not enough air in the cylinders.

So is the rear rad the inter cooler ? i was under car looking at rear of rad and water was dripping from bottom right hand corner by the plastic corner bit.Ive been losing water for a while now and have to keep topping up,i knew i had a leak coz when i would wake up i would see a puddle just by front of bumper.

And sorry if i sound stupid but i thought inter cooler was for oil not water ?

If it's water I would assume that is the radiator but I always though the radiator sat at the front?

Overfueling generally is due to not enough air getting drawn into the engine. This can be due to faulty MAF, injectors, pump. Are you absolutely cetain she is overfuelling? You may just be paranoid. The mpg usually drops too.

Well on startup there's a cloud of smoke that smells of pure diesel

Still the same after update mate took ages to start other day I've just changed starter and battery to see if this helps.
I have a K and N filter fitted not sure if this is the problem , inlet manifold is dirty mate I cleaned EGR but didn't take the top bit off to clean it

Not sure about swirlflaps mate think you asked me about it last time and I checked a vacuum thing with a rod and it moved up and down
