GT5 Spoons Review...

GT5 PS3 DVD has just arrived.

Put DVD into PS3 and uploaded the 113 MB patch... took 100 seconds...

Now downloading the 8GB game data onto my hard disc to speed up game access data.

20 minutes left to complete this task... so... so far, cant get into the game but looking forward to giving my first impressions when I can

dont make the mistake I did and sell the cars you win...need them for other cups, now I've got to pay full price!!

first impressions last night were good, loads of playability and customisation. The karts are great fun

I sold the cars I won aswell But as GT5 doesn't really bring anything new to the Racing / Driving genre I highly doubt i'll be keeping the game passed the weekend, I prefer to play using the cockpit / interior view and shamefully not all cars can do that so not fussed, still cannot get online either as according to Polyphonic Digital their servers are "Busy"It's been like a dead horse trying to get into online lobby let alone into an online race ..

I too am just waiting the 20 minutes to get the data on my hard disc. Went to tesco this morning and fluttered my eyelids at the wife (who was pulling a sicky form work) so she bought me it as an early xmas prezzie!!! Quality!!!

Just in career mode, seemed to work a bit better but agree servers are not the best! I know there will a lot trying to get on but what did they expect, after hyping the game up for, what seems like 13years!

Fan of the cockpit mode too, but do find it annoying they don’t all have it. I’ve been so engrossed with MW2 the last 12months. I think I’ll stick with GT for a while, although apreciate for those that play a lot of racing games there isn’t all that much new about it compared to others

*** First Impressions ***

Ok, game has patched and downloaded to hard-drive.

First two impressive opening sequences...

1) Short graphic movie of how they make a car, from raw materials through to production, which is nice

2) Short in-game graphic movie of different cars and tracks, which looks impressive

Then into the main menu where I am greeted with an apology explaining that on-line gaming is experiencing 'congestion' and that I should shut down 'Playstation Network' connectivity if I experience problems with the game.

Apparently the on-line congestion can affect the normal game as well?

But they are working on it at the moment and should have a fix shortly.

Already feels like I'm Beta testing it rather than a finished product

Ok... so thats gonna be interesting... keep you posted when I get to have a look around

It took 5 years and 9 months to get the game out, Not holding my breathe whilst waiting for a patch
