Default 2.2 DTi Smoking Under Load

If the car is stationary and I rev the engine I don't get any visible smoke.

During the day I know it's there but its light in colour so can't really see it.

But now it's dark early, I can constantly see it in the headlights of drivers behind me and there's a lot!!

It's only under heavy load/acceleration. I'f I just pootle off from a set of lights then I see very little/none.

    Any ideas?

I've quickly checked my IC hoses and I can't see any cracks in the common places.

Have you removed and cleaned the throttle body and boost sensor? I believe there's a tutorial on here somewhere for how to do it.

It's had a brand new throttle body, so not that. Also the EGR was cleaned.

I know diesels smoke, but this is severe even for that!

When was it last serviced? Could be a dirty air filter or blocked fuel filter. That's usually the cause of poor running on our DTi. So make sure to check those

As above check the air filter & diesel filter , try some injector cleaner & bp ultimate or shell v power.
