PS Move?

Thinking of buying this for the kids for christmas, has anyone got it and is it worth a punt? Do you need the add on controller for it to work, or do you just need the eye and wand?

I got it bundled with the new slim 320gb and it's good I have just the one controller and sports champions don't bother with racket sports as it's crap

yeah i understand mucker,
i have convinced my wifey that it would be a good idea to buy my daughter a ps3 for christmas,
she did question it a little as my daughters only 6 weeks old

The trouble with the Kinect is it is too expensive. For the price of the Kinect (for which there is only a handful of early games) you can almost buy the well tried and tested Wii console which has hundreds of motion controlled games.

They really need to drop the price by £100 for this gadget.

A handfull of games?? William, There were infact 19 launch titles for the Kinect, compared to PS Moves 13 launch titles..

I think you'll find that the 19 kinect titles is quite comparable to the same amount that were available on the respective release days of the X360 and PS3 which both had around 21/22 games available on launch day..

Is Kinect Expensive for what it is William? a Move starter pack that comes with just one controller and a game is around £85, a kinect which can be used by upto 6 people (tracking 2 players on screen) with kinect adventures is £129..

As for the tried and tested Wii, Lets be honest, its not a next gen console as it's not capable of doing Hi Def at all (max resolution of a Wii is 480i) and the graphics and user interface look dated and just awful as are the Mii's, The Wii-Motes aren't precise either.. and it's in no way comparable to either the PS3 or X360..
We have a Wii, it's now been boxed up and put in the loft as the Kinect and move are used more often..

It was £140 on its own or £100 if bought with a new XBox 360 last week in Belfast! I was comparing this £140 with £150 to £175 for a complete Wii console which includes 2 controllers. Not convinced mtion control will be popular with PS3 or XBox users as it really is not great for the sort of complex games that these consoles have in comparison with the Wii. The Wii outputs 576i not 480i, and not everyone would agree that next gen was just about HD. When the 3 consoles all came out the PS3 and XBox were limited to old technology control, same games as XBox or PS2 but with nicer pictures, while the Wii was a revolution in Game play. The other two are only just catching up in that area now. But as you know I have just bought an XBox, there is room for both. Because I like a Wii does not stop me appreciating the XBox just the same as the fact that I liked my Mondeo does not stop me also liking my Vectra .

Next Gen, As in PS3 and Xbox 360 was all about HiDef Gaming William as the PS2 and Xbox were not HD consoles..

Not Poplular?? Kinect is expected to sell 5 million from launch to Christmas (46 days), with 1 Million being sold in the 1st week alone.PS Move has sold more than 2.5 Million since launch... Im a gamer through and through, I have been since the days of the ZX81, and i love the Kinect and Move, But both are so superior to Wii in many ways.

If you're not familiar with gaming William then you may not know that Wii Motes are basically a form of "Light Gun" which have been around since the 1930's, and used in gaming since the late 70's / early 80's, Wii just brought modified old tech to the masses, they didn't invent it..

I think you'll also find that there are Core games either in the pipeline or released for Move & Kinect And in time there will be more.

£129 is the RRP set by Microsoft, @ £140 you need to find a new supplier
