    Default Has anyone tuned a 3.2 GSI?

    I bought my car about 2 weeks ago now and im testing the water to see what can be done tuning wise to the 3.2?

    I know the limit is my wallet and all that but im talking remap etc and what sort of gain will i be looking at?

    been thinking the same fella for the last few months been looking at what can be done guy on vvoc has a z32se in a vec b he races in the vectra challange and at 7000rpm he's making 300bhp ill see if i can find the thread or the spec, im currently looking at getting a custom exhaust with 3inch pipework and custom made tubular manifolds, different management, remapped, cams, and some uprated fuelling but your talking mega bucks for all this so im gunna start off with getting it breathing better and maybe remapped and then see?

    Im looking at the basics first, like you said, get her breathing better and maybe getting rid of the cat and putting a nice stainless system on her to let her grumble.

    There is a registered trader on here called MIJ who do custom stainless exhausts give them a buzz they are up north but most have used them on here and highly recommend them, they could decat and a nice stainless jobby for you. They quoted me £365 for a cat back system on my Signum so wouldn't have thought it would be much more with the decat buddy.

    I've read threads that say with a standard remap you will get bore wash, there has been a few people that say you can get a custom remap but for the power gains you will get it's not going to be worth it.

    The MIJ system on my GSi cost me £405 including a decat.

    Both me and hagga had a custom remap at hi-tech motorsport about a month ago.

    His is a manual. He has a conefilter, irridium plugs, de-catted and big bore and produced 204bhp at the wheel after the remap (roughly 235bhp at the flywheel but obviously only a estimate)

    I have a 3.2 Auto and only have a a k&n panel filter engine wise that is non standard. I went from 178bhp at the wheels to 191bhp at the wheels. Being an auto though i lose more by time it gets to the wheels but was told its probably around the 230 mark.

    Torque however went up a fair ammount and the engine imo pulls really strong now from low revs.

    I was told they could get more max bhp but the max they gave me was the best overall map for the entire rev range. My max is hit at 5750rpm on my auto. Think hagga hits his at 6350 ish.
