Default Would aisin warner 55-50/sn (af33) autobox for saab 95 fit my signum 2.2 dti

    Hi.

Do anybody know if aisin warner´s 55-50/sn for saab 95 would fit my signum 2.2 dti regardless if its a diesel or petrol engine? Saab 95 2.2 tid and 2.3 tic are both equipped with the 55-50/sn autobox, is this identical with the 55-50/sn in the Signum 2.2 dti?

The final drive ratio on the petrol engined auto box may be different to that on the diesel engined auto box. It will be a lower ratio on the petrol one, which isn't good for performance or economy on a diesel car.

VX designate box as AF23/33, and it has many variants and final drive ratios.

It may be that a petrol one wouldn't fit a diesel one because things like the bell housing would be different due to things like the starter motor being in a different place.

This is why they use alphacodes, to make sure that the right box goes on the right car at the factory.

    Thanks.

So this means that the ones with 2.40 (TX,TH,TW,JB) final drive have the same gear ratio, but have small mechanical variations. They all have the same engine y22dtr though (like myself), so the differences might not be that big.
    Any clue?

    Cheers

Actually, It would seem that the 2.2 diesel and the 3.2 petrol have the same fdr on the auto box (2.40), so I suppose that the one on the petrol Saab would be about the same? There is still the problem of the bell housings being different.
