intermitant climate control

hey thought id pop this one out see if any one knows anything about it, but sometimes when i start the car the climate control doesnt work, it behaves as if its not even there, i get no fans etc, and it will come on on its own later, or sometimes when i press the auto button, thought some one might have experienced this, or maybe theres a setting needs changing, or maybe its just one of them vauxhall electrical gremlins

it depends on the temp out side and what you have it set at inside.
it works so that it warms up so not to blow you with cold air if you have it set warm when you first get in

yeah mine dies this too, its fine one minute, then say i stop for petrol, after i restart the car the whole unit is dead but can sometimes be brought back to life by pressing just that one button, sometimes not.. After next restart it could be fine again..

I don't know what causes it, i have bought a replacement unit of ebay to replace mine but have not changed it over yet

thats it exactly pain in the but, driving along not realising it hasnt come on and before you know it you cant see out the front for mist

yeah, would love to know the cause.. will eventually swap out the unit and see if this newer one resolves it.. its only a 10 minute job but i always seem to forget until i notice its dead again and by then i am driving down the road..

I don't have climate control but sometimes the buttons on the normal front panel of my heater control won't work. I'm thinking it might be the same problem as I had with my radio - dry solder joints or cracked joints. I haven't got the connections re-soldered on my radio yet but if I give the front panel a push, it sort of makes the connection again. Maybe worth a try giving the panel a shove?
