Question Clutch Thrust Release Bearing Perhaps.?

Hi all, Without touching the gearstick at all, If i depress the clutch pedal about an inch i get a rattle sound where the bite would normally be. If i then depress the pedal to the floor the sound has gone. The car (Vectra 1.9CDti 150), is on an 06 reg (4.5 years old) and has only done 35,000 miles.

Is this the thrust release bearing.?
Will i have to have the whole clutch replaced if it is.?
Is it covered under warranty with only 35,000 on the clock.?
How much roughly will it cost.?

I have heard these flywheels/clutches can rattle like that for years before they finally give up. Is there any way of knowing when there about to go, think it depends on how they are driven.

Vx will quote £1,500 but I would search the internet for some specialist clutch/flywheel/transmission specialists.

Hairy31 on this site got his done for £700 but I am not 100% if the clutch was included.

Mine was £740 inc flywheel and complete clutch at a VX specialist in Lincoln recently

I doubt you will get it done under warranty at nearly 5 years old.

Its worth doing the clutch at the same time IMO while all the gearbox is out as you would be paying for the labour again if the clutch went, then again you have only done 35k on it
