Vec 2.2 Sri 04 missing?

Hi Guys

Just brought a vect 2.2 sri 04 petrol..

When im acceleranting hard the car holds back and judders any ideas ?

Any warning lights on the dash? Does it rev up in neutral but under load holds back at about 3000rpm, and does it have 2 exhausts?

No warning lights yes revs fine in neutral. and yep gets to 3000rpm then starts arsein about.. yep it has the twin exhausts

It could be the HP fuel pump/reg, an expensive fix so if you've just bought it get it straight back and get them to sort it. Unfortunately its a common problem with the 2.2 direct to the point it was a feature on BBC's Watchdog. Although if its not too bad it could just be a coil pack.

will vx be able to tell me if its knackered ?.

Yep but they will charge you £50, but TBH its the best place to get it diagnosed. Did you buy it from VX?

My mates 2.2 Direct has just been into the Stealers for a miss fire, Tech 2 said Coiul Pack, they changed that and it was still there, Tech 2 still said coilmpack, turned out to be the Fuel pump playing up

Straight back then mate and mention the fuel pump, they still to this day deny there's a fault buy as you just bought it you should be covered.
