Wiper motor is faulty, theres a thread on it somewhere on how to repair it... Are you any good with drilling out rivets and a dab of soldering?

thats the thread, new earth strap, I know for sure as it happened to me christmas bluddy eve! Stripped it out and fixed on boxing day. Its deffo not linkage mis-adjustment as it travels normally on wipe, but purely the selfpark function is fubar

About an hours work in total from start to finish. Not had a problem since

    Link to the how2

    http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90019

I followed it step by step, easier as per how2 and take the whole mechanism out. I didnt use nuts/bolts to refix the cover for the motor as I just re pop-rivetted it with new rivets

You 'may' be able to just unbolt the motor from the linkage.. Not sure on the access to it with the linkage in situ...
