    Default locking wheel nuts

Now that I have upgraded my wheels, I wish to get rid of the VX locking wheel nuts.

I have already called out the AA man to get one of my wheels off (long story).

so which locking wheels nuts are best.

nuts that deter the thief and will not give me grief when i need to take the wheel off.

    thanks

Have a look at McGards Locking wheel bolts

They're Thatcham approved and look a nice chrome finish

Aren't the Vx nuts rebadged McGard SL bolts. I always thought the Vx ones were decent?

The Vx ones are Thatcham approved too, but the McGards bolts look like they have a nice chrome finish, where my Vx bolts are now a nasty dull oxidised colour.

So did I. Read somewhere they were McGard's and Thatcham approved. But some people are always taking their wheels off and need real heavy duty shiny ones

F**k me is that the time? Goodnight.

I fitted McGards recently & compared side by side the Vx & McGards are similar but by no means identical

If you get McGard, get the 'tuner' ranger and you can fit your fifth bolt cover.

the problem was i couldn't get one of my rear wheels off. I used the VX wheel brace then my own large torque wrench with a 17mm socket. the locking wheel nut would just slip off the bolt. Was going to go the the dealers but I had a brainwave and called network q. They put it down as a puncture and called the AA. He couldn't get the thing off either. He used a cold chisel to square off the edges and finally manged to get it off. It still is difficult to get off.

I just don't fancy trying to get the wheel off on the hard shouldr of a motorway in the dark.........

I was just taking this opporunity to get opinions to see if there are a reliable and safe alternative.

I don't know what code mine are but I won't be putting it on a open forum..............
