Lambeth Council parking ticket

Gets in last night to a brown envelope stamped lambeth council (i live just outside Newcastle btw) I open it up to find a demand of £120 for an unpaid parking notice from last month ! after looking at the notice which had my exact registration on it i 'googled' the street which was in london ( i've never driven to London before) and the date the offence took place (which happened to be when i was at work with said vehicle in sunny peterlee) so phones up the monkies at lambeth council who say their system has a different reg to mine and that they cant do owt about it (i.e my reg is kY05 the reg on their system is KV05). I have to appeal by filling out the back of the notice , what worries me is the notice has MY registration on it , i Just hope some numpty double checks the system when they recieve my appeal cos i wont be responsible if some traffic fruit tries to clamp my motor 6 months down the line !

Anyone had anything like this before?

Get back on the phone and tell to shove the ticket somewhere. You should not have to make an appeal for some ones mistake, speak to the highest possible level. Tell them u are going to sue for distress they are causing!!!

Oh and you want a copy of the orginal parking ticket faxed to you as proof ASAP. Get names of who u have spoken to and times of calls.

This lot wil screw u if they can, had dealings with Lambeth council before over parking on a line that did not even exist!

Had one years back for a company van the ticket was in London & the van was in Nottingham at the time, wrote back & never heard anymore of it. At the end of the day someone has mistyped the reg no & sent it off to the DVLA & got your details, just appeal & let the 2hats sort it out.

the original ticket should have make/model of car that commited the offence, what are the chances that the make/model from the ticket (reg KV) matches your reg (KY), so that should be enough proof. Also, don't they take pictures for evidence, again, unlikely that the car with the incorrect reg is the same make/model as yours.

not 100% sure, but I'd do as merikiito says and get the evidence.

the ticket has his number, but their system doesn't. Sounds like the poeple who sent the crap tpyou need to quash it. Still, you may as well appeal. What harm can it do.

thats not the issue m8 , the reg doesnt match the one on their system someones just made a typo

oh and no the cars are not of the same type dunno what theirs is but it aint a veccy they wouldnt tell me what it was though.
