    Default i feel like a right t**t

    just had to get the AA to come out to my car when we were out as it lost all power and just refused to drive wouldnt accelerate,

    the guy came out and plugged in his obd2 reader which came back with code p2279- air intake system leak, he walked over to his van got a hammer chapped the egr valve a few times and away it went!

    why didnt i think of that? so time to either buy a new egr valve or clean the old one out,

    found one at eurocar parts for £84.60 it says oe and engine code is the same will this fit my car like for like?

    sounds like its only sticking, try cleaning it out first, buy yourself a can of carb cleaner for £5 and save yourself £80

    agreed... take it to bits as per the guide and it'll run fine for yonks. i'd upgrade the gaskets to the fiat semi-blanking ones too.

    just cleaned it out and drilled the hole in the back of it and tapped the plunger thingy out cleaned it all up and rubbed off the corrosion with p1000 wet and dry, seems a bit better but wont really notice unless it starts to stick, fingers crossed it worked though, got a spare egr valve here aswell so ive cleaned that one up so i can change between them if i get any problems,

    where can i get the fiat semi-blanking gaskets?

    lol yeah think when i sell the car im gonna throw in a free hammer for unsticking the egr valve
