Hello group, my Z19DTH turbo is damaged and I have to change it, any recommendations for another brand other than Garrett? New or rebuilt? Greetings and thanks!

A search on what people have done to their cars in case you are thinking hybrid turbo would be best for you... if you aren't than the best replacement would be an oem replacement turbo, next would be a refurbished one, followed by just buying the core and DIY, followed by just buying a used good working one of a specialist breaker.
Good morning,
I replaced mine recently at 113,000 km with a rebuilt standard exchange
When doubling on a climb a loud noise and more power then smoke and degraded mode
To park safely I had to drive a little longer because it was fast and dangerous.
I was afraid that filings would circulate in the engine block but nothing of that and since redone 1000 kms and it works normally
Before breaking the turbo whistled louder and louder
So turbo replacement + drain + filter change + intake and intercooler circuit cleaning
When restarting, still a lot of smoke coming out (I think the oil was present in the exhaust) I hope I have not damaged the catalysis system
So a little break-in of 200 kms and after a quick see to start the catalysis cycle and since then no more smoke all ok
On the other hand, it seems to me that the new turbo is barely less powerful when starting so perhaps I should have put a new one?
Afterwards maybe an adjustment to be made but I don't know what I can modify so if info on a specific turbo adjustment I'm interested
So in summary a new one would perhaps be better than a standard exchange to see over time
@JFFRANCE the turbo needs to be set properly, so it opens with the right amount of boost... if you have no clue i'd suggest you go see a mechanic or a tuner to have it set right... it's not rocket science but basically the turbo actuator rod needs to be either shortened or lengthened. (and no they are never the exact same, ware and tear does make a difference) you could even have the turbo set right but there might be a slight leak somewhere. this is the reason why I said take it to a mechanic or tuner.
