brocken rocker cover bolt advice
Went to change rocker cover gasket on vectra c z18xer.Fitted new cocer and gasket .Went round the bolts to tighten them up and snapped the one flush with the head the one near front cam solenoid . Tryed drilling it out took forver .Question can i use a tap and die set and use one of my old bolts off the old cover and reuse the exsisting hole so i don't have to use a bigger bolt.I know a helicoil could work but not sure best method.Any ideas appreciated .My own fault for being heavey handed on the last bolt.I wouldn't mind the old cover came off no problem.just my luck

Helicoil is the best choice. Buy the whole set, new screw. You don’t even need to tighten the bolts, they need like 10 Nm, barely hand tightened and if i remember right the sequence for tightening is in a oval shaped starting from the midlle to the outside.

Is it into the cam bridge or the head ? If it's the bridge you could just replace that
