battery not charging looking at removing alternator

Z30dt battery is going flat whilst driving used multimeter when idling its less than 12v.

has anyone managed to change their alternator themselves without using a garage ramp?
got any helpful info on changing alternator I looked up workshop manual it’s talking about removing the engine subframe, catalytic converter removed exhaust off the list goes on

all you need is enough space to get under the car, so a good trolley jack and 2 axle stands are more than enough to sort it out. And they are right you need to remove all of that to get to it...
