Thread: small brass thread on top of engine

    Default small brass thread on top of engine

    cant describe as dont know why or what for as bikes are more my thing.
    took the plastic cover off of the engine today and as can be seen above the injector rail , centre of picture, is a small brass threaded hole. to me, there should be something in there??
    anyone shed somelight on its use or if should have something in there?

    Most motor bikes I’ve had have had metal inserts into plastic so I’m not sure why you can’t explain what you mean.

    stop being a dick, you can see what it means, and i cant for the life of me remember what is normally there?

    it's missing a bolt... look between glowplug 2 and 3 and you'll notice the same shape in the plastic part but it has a bolt in it.

    Well it’s just a threaded insert then isn’t it?
    I don’t know the engine but I’d look on google and eBay for these to see what others look like and with the bonnet open to compare.
